Layercake Shortlisted for Broadcast & Production at the Smarter Sports Technology Awards

Sydney, Australia – April 2026 – We’re pleased to announce that Layercake has been shortlisted for Broadcast & Production at the Smarter Sports Technology Awards.

The recognition highlights the work being done to support modern broadcast operations, where flexibility and the ability to respond quickly can be just as important as the technology itself.

For sports broadcasters, every event can bring a different set of requirements. Production environments may need to be configured for a specific workflow, brought online for a live event, and then adapted or taken down when the production is complete.

Layercake provides an approach designed around this changing operational reality. Rather than treating each environment as a fixed setup, Layercake enables teams to orchestrate the infrastructure and technology they need around the requirements of each production.

This is particularly relevant as more broadcast workflows move across cloud and hybrid environments. The challenge is no longer simply having access to technology — it is being able to coordinate that technology effectively when and where it is needed.

Our shortlist recognition in Broadcast & Production reflects Layercake’s role in this evolving landscape and our ongoing work to help media teams build production environments that can move at the pace of live sport.

We’re delighted to be recognised by The STA Group alongside organisations contributing to the next generation of sports technology.

Congratulations to all the shortlisted organisations, and we look forward to celebrating the innovation taking place across the industry.
